Balayage? Ombre?

Many has heard of ombre, what about balayage?

Balayage is a more natural looking highlights and low lights. It is more subtle than ombre, i personally think...

Ombre can either be harsh or subtle, depends on what you want...

Both Balayage and Ombre may be similar in many ways...

The colour is applied from mid to tip of the hair...

Sorry for the screen shots, was saving some pictures to show the stylist....

Im thinking of going 2-3 shades lighter from my current hair colour.

The waves + the Balayage = Gorgeous

This Biel style is also stunning..

I need to change... SOON!

Anyone has done this before? Do share!

P/S: Pictures are taken from various websites.

Date day with Mr Husband...

Oppss, it seems i was the one caught fiddling with my phone...

I am always looking forward to spending time with Mr H especially during off days... Wishfully, without any gadgets and disturbance. So, yesterday was ONE of those days.....

Currently, we are trying to collect our annual Starbucks Planner. We have been doing this for couple of years now. We need to drink up 15 hand crafted beverages from Starbucks to be entitled to one planner or diary. For 2013, they have it in Red and Brown.. I am eyeing on the Red one...

But, on the other note, i may pass this one up like last year as i would like to buy a Korean diary. They are just too cute!! I am currently using a blue Smiley Diary for this year.

Publika Shop, quickly arrange your Korean stocks and call me ok? :)

Anyone else who are obsessed with Korean  cuteness? May it be diary, stickers, memo pad, pens?

Do share.....

Review: Amika Ceramic Styler & Ouidad Curl Quencher

I have been in search of a curling tool for a couple of months now. I have read reviews and watch youtube constantly in order to learn on ways to do curl on my mid length hair. I came across brands like GHD, Babyliss, Conair, Remington, Chi, Amika and etc. Sadly, none of those brands are available in Malaysia except for Amika and thanxs to Sephora...

I have bought a styler/straightener from Philips couple of months ago but i find that it is not good enough. I was strugling with it and never get the springy curls that i want. It leaves my hair dry, frizzy and with burned-like smell. I knew something is not right. I'll damage my hair in the long run.

When i saw Amika in Sephora, i was so excited coz i know this brand is a professional brand. But now i have 2 issues, one being that it is RM350 for a curling tool (it's so hard to justify this). It is expensive in comparison with other brands like Panasonic, Philips or Vidal sasson which is in the range of RM150-RM250 ish. The other issue is i am torn between the Amika Styler or the Amika Curling Wand. I need a tool that can provide me with big luscious curls without damaging my hair.... Pffttttt......

After much convincing and consulting from Husband, i chose the Amika Styler as it can give me a nicer curls compared to the loose waves from a curling wand. I actually got it on the last day of 20% Sephora Members Sale. The styler is much more versatile as i can use it to do curls or to straighten my hair. I also bought the Ouidad Curl Quencher to hold my curls..

This is what written on the box for Amika Styler:
The Amika Ceramic Styler is a powerful professional tool that can be used to create straight, wavy and curly styles. The high quality materials and advanced technology make it gentle on hair and incredibly easy to use. The floating plates adjust as you style which allows you to go beyond straightening and create wavy and curly styles. The floating plates create a smoother styling process so that there is no tugging or breaking. The Styler delivers silky, soft, healthy hair and the same results you expect from a professional salon experience. The result is faster and more effective styling but without the damage of conventional heat styling tools.

Product Specs:
100% solid ceramic plates, floating plates adjust during styling, far infrared heat is much gentler on the hair, negative ions seal the cuticle for frizz free results, adjustable temperature 80 to 230 degrees Celcius, 9 foot 360 swivel cord, heats up and is ready to use in less than a minute and easy grip heat resistant surface.

Overall i am happy with this purchase as it gives me a nice curls and wavy styles, no more burning smell on my hair, more soft and bouncy curls and it protects my hair from over expose of heat from other curler tools. The only bad thing is i definitely need to use the Loreal Elnett spray and Ouidad Curl Quencher after that. Plus point, it comes with a nice pink-black laced pattern that is so girly.

On the other note, the Ouidad Curl Quencher has a very nice scent to it and it does not leave white residue on my hair. After applying it, i scrunch my curls and leave it to dry... Easy peasy..

I hope Sephora will bring in a bigger diameter curling wand as that is next in my wish list...

*wink wink*

Girl's Weekend Out

Since last weekend Mr Husband was busy with his Team building training, NNR and me decided to go to Melaka on Saturday and pick him up on Sunday afternoon at Port Dickson.

We took a slow drive to Melaka via the Plus highway and reach Melaka at about 1 pm.

We booked the room in advance at Euro Rich Hotel Melaka. We were blinded by the nice looking purple sofas and other pictures on the website. Guys, seriously, it is not worth it to spend RM188 for the room.. Our deluxe room has a very slippery bathroom, water leaking from outside the room and into our room, there's a constant 'ubat gegat' smell and the breakfast is the lousiest i ever had. That will be the first and last staying there.

After lunch at Mahkota Parade, we head up to Jonker Street. It was drizzling and we've got to grab the raincoats.. We went to the Hard Rock Gift Shop and was told that the Hard Rock Cafe Melaka will open it's door in January 2013, which is very soon..

NNR in Geographer Cafe

That is the Purple Sofa i was telling you about...

We quickly check out on Sunday morning and head out to Port Dickson, taking the coastal road. We tried to find Avillion Admiral Cove in the Google map and Apple's map, but, we couldn't find it. We really keep our eyes open for the AAC signboards.

Overlooking the marina from the Sailor's Drink Shop..

How i envy..... I want to be in the yatch too....

NNR looking gorgeous with her sunnies

:)

I enjoyed my outing with NNR and we had so much fun laughing our hearts out ......

We'll be back....

Anything For a Long Lustrous Hair...

After 30 years of neglecting my hair, I am starting to realise that my hair has become dry and tangle easily this lately. I guess the humid weather, aging and lack of treatment has taken a toll on my hair. Seriously, i don't use any sort of conditioner nor treatment. Usually all I use is shampoo, but i alternate 2 to 3 different brands of shampoos every time. I think it's kinda weird coz if i ever stick on one particular shampoo, my scalp will become dry and flaky. It's hideous!! Regardless of all that, my hair is still smooth to the touch and manageable.

When i went to a salon last week, the hairstylist mistakenly thought that i had done rebonding to my hair. I never like hair to be super straight, i like more volume with wave or curls... I give it a shot to their treatment (shampoo, hair and scalp creme bath treatment and steamer) and i LOVE it! My hair felt healthy, smooth to the touch, not dry and shiny. Even the scent stays for about 2 days.

I went and bought these babies for my hair, in order to maintain a healthy hair and scalp:

Shampoo choice: Volumising

Here is the treatment creme that i used the other day:

Piece of advice from the hairstylist, i should lightly layered my hair in order to maintain the curls as i like to style my hair in such way. Currently, my hair is just too soft and straight and these condition doesn't help in holding the curls, even with hair spray... So sad.

So mental note, i MUST go to the salon and layered my hair....

DONE!

P/S: Will do a review on the Bain de Terre Volumising shampoo and Loreal Hair Spa- Repairing Creme Bath soon..

Reviews on 12th Nov 2012:
Bain de Terre Volumising shampoo- i love this shampoo from the first use. It smells so fresh and it does make my hair feels soft and light.. I guess that is the volumising effects. I would like to grab the conditioner from the same range soon.

Loreal Hair spa Repairing Creme Bath- i love this too. At the moment, i use it up as conditioner instead of hair treatment. I've done the treatment once at home, according to step by step, but without the Loreal ampoule. It turns out ok, but not as good as done in salon. So, i think i better do the treatment in salon instead. Overall, it does leave my hair feeling conditioned, hydrate and super soft.
